KICKING HORSE BACKCOUNTRY

Our home zone! This is the terrain that brought us to Golden and has kept us here since. The terrain adjacent to Kicking Horse Resort is second to none for ease of access to amazing terrain. Gentle open alpine terrain, perfectly spaced tree runs and steep alpine chutes. Often referred to as ‘sidecountry’ or slackcountry’ skiing, we’ll use the lifts at the outset to access the backcountry terrain, saving our legs to ski hidden stashes of powder. Once in the backcountry we will use our climbing skins and skis or split boards to run laps and move efficiently throughout the backcountry bowls. This is a great opportunity for intermediate and advanced resort skiers to experience backcountry skiing at its finest.

ROGER'S PASS

Roger’s Pass in the Selkirk Mountains west of Golden, BC is widely known as Canada’s backcountry skiing and ski touring Capital. It never seems to stop snowing in Roger’s Pass. Advanced skiers and boarders will be introduced to touring and skiing ‘The Pass’ by one of our certified ski guides who will show you the classic ski tours and lines in the area. Glaciated ascents, wide open bowls and fantastic treed and gladed skiing await the fortunate advanced skier/boarder in Roger’s Pass.

THE ROCKIES

When springtime arrives the place to ski is the Canadian Rockies on the icefields Parkway.  The warmer temperatures and the longer days allow us to ski the endless peaks and glaciated ski runs available.
